EO: Now you're gonna be the hot doctor!
AOL: Yeah, yeah, well... yeah... I get to be a doctor anyway. It's a terrific show. I'm so excited about this pickup. It's called"Three Rivers". It's about a transplant hospital in Pittsburgh calledthe Three Rivers Hospital; "Three Rivers" because the three rivers meetin Pittsburgh and our show is told from three perspectives: now thedonor, the recipient and the surgical team, of which I play the kindof... one of the heads of cardio throracic surgery. My character isbased on a real life surgeon called "Gonzo" Gonzalez-Stawinski whotaught me so much, while I studied with him before I shot the pilot andas I was shooting the pilot and I sat in on a bunch of open-heartsurgeries with him and I watched him do his thing and I could... Everyquestion I had for him, he was happy to answer and so I have this...Him and his team kind of love me into this profession. And it's such ahuge profession that requires so... an entire lifetime of dedicationand study, that... I mean it's almost... This role, the guy I'm playingis so important, you know, that it's... a part of me was like "Oh, youcan't do that, you can't play that role, it's too important.. You'llnever know enough to be able to play that role". But it's... theyaccepted me and it's been such a privilege.
EO: There's still kind of a little blood theme going on?
AOL: HUGE amounts of blood; it's in my contract! I won't do ashow unless there is a certain quota of blood. And they reached that, and so then I read the pilot. Yeah, so there's a lot of blood, there'sa lot of hearts, but it's different -- I'm not drinking it, I'm notguzzling it in this one. Maybe we should do that in an episode, justfind Andy -- my character -- just guzzling a bucket of blood. I don'tknow, it's just an idea.
EO: I love Moonlight.
AOL: Oh good, thank you!
EO: It's now on the Sci Fi Channel.
AOL: I know, I miss it, I mean that was then and this is now.We all loved it, you know, and my fans I try to keep in regular contactwith and there's so many fans of the show you know, it's hard to keepin touch with everyone. But it's missed by all, including me. Iloved... I love that show.
