Here are some articles grabbed on the network about the next Mandy Patinkin's appearance on Three Rivers

The network says the former "Criminal Minds" star will make a guest appearance on the medical drama "Three Rivers." He'll play an aspiring organ donor.

Patinkin received corneal implants, donated by the families of a 13-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy, to correct a disease that distorts the shape of the cornea and severely impairs vision.

This just in from the let-bygones-be-bygones division of the CBS casting department: Mandy Patinkin — the very talented but oh-so-complicated actor who walked off of Criminal Minds after its second season — will guest star on an upcoming episode of Three Rivers, the network’s new drama about organ transplants. Patinkin, who was the recipient of a double corneal transplant, won’t re-enact his real-life problems with degenerative eye disease; instead, he’ll play an ALS patient who wants to be taken off life support so his organs can save others. In a network press release today, CBS tried to make hay out of the fact that Patinkin has a “very personal connection with organ donation,” but I think they were missing the point. Patinkin’s back, baby!

THIS JUST IN... ...From the CBS Television Network EMMY AND TONY AWARD WINNER, AND REAL-LIFE DOUBLE CORNEALTRANSPLANT RECIPENT MANDY PATINKIN TO GUEST STAR ON "THREE RIVERS"

NEW YORK, Oct. 14 — Emmy and Tony Award winner, and real-life double corneal transplant recipient Mandy Patinkin ("Criminal Minds") will guest star on an upcoming episode of the medical drama THREE RIVERS, which airs Sunday nights (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Patinkin plays Victor, an ALS patient who asks to be to taken off of life support following a car crash, so that his organs can be used to save others.

Patinkin has a very personal connection with organ donation, in 1997 and 1998, he received corneal transplants in his right and left eyes to correct the condition of keratoconus, an eye disease that creates a "cone-shaped" cornea which impairs vision severely. Patinkin's corneas were donated by the families of a 13 year-old girl (right eye) and a 12 year-old boy (left eye).
